A coffee cupping workshop is a sensory and educational experience focused on identifying, describing, and enjoying the aromas, flavors, and textures of coffee. Unlike the barista workshop —which teaches brewing techniques— cupping is about tasting and analyzing coffee to uncover its sensory profile by comparing coffees of different varieties, processes, and origins.

Today, we want to share something we’re proud of: we believe we already meet several of the criteria for the prestigious Bird Friendly® certification, granted by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center, and we’re working to fulfill them all.

For over 20 years, El Rosal farm — home of Perpetuo Café — has come alive with magic and joy during Christmas in Vereda Las Mercedes, Santa Bárbara (Antioquia, Colombia 🇨🇴). This tradition brings together laughter, carols, raffles, food, unforgettable moments, and meaningful gifts — strengthening our bond with the community and honoring the land that has been essential to our story.

At Perpetuo Café de Altura, we’re celebrating and we want to share this joy with you—our customers and friends. At the recent Sabaneta Coffee Festival, organized by the Municipality of Sabaneta, we were honored with two recognitions that fill us with pride for our daily work.

What Defines a Specialty Coffee
Specialty coffee is about much more than achieving a minimum score of 80 out of 100 in a certified cupping evaluation. A true Specialty Coffee is an artisan product, crafted for the passionate consumer — someone who values exceptional quality and has a refined taste. This is not a coffee drinker who settles for mass-market offerings, even when labeled as “gourmet.”
